Engineer Kamel el-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, emphasized that the primary goal of this negative exhibition is to showcase imported production inputs and encourage local manufacturing. By inviting local manufacturers and suppliers, the Ministry aims to facilitate cooperation and stimulate local production of these inputs. This will help conserve foreign currency, meet domestic demand, and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products. This is particularly important as many manufacturers import components and spare parts due to a lack of awareness of local suppliers capable of producing equivalent quality and specifications.
The Minister also noted that the exhibition will feature commonly
imported spare parts used by government agencies. This will provide an
opportunity for local suppliers to explore the potential for domestic
production of these parts, reducing reliance on imports.
