Madbouly: SCZONE to anchor global production, logistics hubs

Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly conducted an extensive tour of the Sokhna Integrated Industrial Zone this morning, Sunday, to inaugurate a suite of new industrial and logistics projects. The visit underscores the state's strategic focus on the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) as a primary engine for industrial growth and export-led development.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation, including the Deputy PM for Industrial Development and the Ministers of Industry, Planning, Electricity, and Investment.

During the tour, Dr. Madbouly emphasized that the SCZONE is a cornerstone of Egypt’s comprehensive industrial strategy. "The Zone’s unique geographical position, coupled with advanced infrastructure and modern ports, allows for the creation of integrated production and logistics chains that serve both domestic and global markets," the Prime Minister stated. He added that the continuous expansion of projects reflects investor confidence in Egypt’s business environment and the government’s success in deepening local manufacturing.

Waleed Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the SCZONE, highlighted that today’s inaugurations represent a diverse portfolio of strategic sectors. The new projects, with total investments exceeding $190 million, are expected to generate approximately 2,700 jobs.

The newly inaugurated projects span several key sectors such as:

Engineering & Electronics: Precision engineering and home appliances;

Renewable Energy: Manufacturing of components for new and renewable energy;

Consumer Goods: Food processing, textiles, ready-made garments, and advanced plastics; and

Logistics: New logistics centers designed to enhance supply chain efficiency and boost exports.

Gamal El-Din noted that the SCZONE is moving steadily toward localizing value-added industries and facilitating technology transfer. By linking local production with regional and international markets, the zone aims to reduce reliance on imports and improve the competitiveness of "Made in Egypt" products.

The inaugurations today further solidify the SCZONE's position as an integrated regional hub, leveraging the synergy between its industrial zones and affiliated ports to support the national economy.
