The decision, issued by the Higher Committee for Public Shop Licensing, aims to accommodate citizens' needs during the festive season while balancing economic activity with public order.
Under the new regulations, which take effect this Wednesday,
restaurants and cafes are permitted to continue takeaway and home delivery
services 24 hours a day. Workshops located within residential areas must close
by 10:00 pm, though those on highways and at petrol stations are exempt.
She added that the decision ensures a suitable atmosphere
for citizens during the holy month, noting that essential services, including
supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies, and wholesale fruit and vegetable markets, will
remain exempt from the closing restrictions to ensure the continuous supply of
basic goods.
The Minister directed provincial authorities to form monitoring committees to ensure compliance. Local officials have been instructed to take legal action against business owners who violate the temporary schedule, which will remain in place until the end of the Eid El-Fitr holidays.
