New governors swear in before President Sisi

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Monday witnessed the swearing-in ceremony of a new slate of governors and their deputies at the presidential palace in Heliopolis.

The reshuffle, attended by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Local Development Minister Dr. Manal Awad, saw several key appointments across Egypt’s 27 governorates.

The appointments are as follows:

Matrouh: Dr. Mohamed Salman Moussa Ibrahim al-Zamlout

Giza: Dr. Ahmed Abdullah El-Hussein Mohamed El-Ansari

Port Said: Ibrahim Ahmed Ibrahim Shahawy Abu Limon

Following the ceremony, President Sisi met with the new officials to outline national priorities. Presidential spokesperson Mohamed eEl-Shennawy said the president urged the governors to maximize their respective regions' resources to achieve tangible results for the public interest.

Sisi stressed the need for officials to work sincerely and away from favoritism, tasking them with mastering the specific details of local issues. He emphasized that the success of a governor is directly reflected in the welfare of the state.

The President issued several directives, including maintaining direct communication with residents and seriously addressing complaints, prioritizing water, sanitation, and electricity projects, as well as overseeing the Decent Life initiative, and cracking down on agricultural land encroachments, managing illegal building settlements, and improving urban planning. He called for cooperating with investors and business leaders while boosting tourism in relevant governorates, and conducting personal inspections of bakeries, cleanliness campaigns, and public housing projects.

President Sisi concluded the meeting by calling for transparency and continuous coordination with the central government and parliament to ensure the efficient delivery of services.
