Finance Ministry holds public Hajj lottery for staff

Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk oversaw the public lottery drawing for Hajj visas allocated to employees across the Ministry and its affiliated departments.

A total of 227 Ministry employees applied for the visas this year, which were approved by the Cabinet's Supreme Ministerial Hajj Committee.

Minister Kouchouk congratulated the winners, asking them "to pray for more stability and progress for Egypt and Egyptians." He added that the Ministry is coordinating continuously with relevant authorities to ensure the best services for the pilgrims throughout the Hajj period.

Gamal Hussein, Chairman of the General Treasury and Mint Authority and head of the Hajj committee, stated that 18 entities affiliated with the Ministry participated in the lottery. He noted that two winners were selected from 45 applicants nearing retirement age, recognizing their long service and the drawing being their last opportunity to apply.

Hussein also confirmed that 16 specialized religious tourism companies submitted bids, with the best technical and financial offers being selected to manage the pilgrimage arrangements.

The Minister had formed a committee led by Hussein to ensure a fair and transparent allocation process for the Ministry’s quota, guaranteeing equal opportunities for all candidates.

The report also listed the names of employees selected from various departments, including the Egyptian Tax Authority, Customs Authority, and General Treasury.
