Trial run commences for Egypt Aluminum wire production

Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of the Public Business Sector, received a progress report on the installation and operation of the new aluminum wire production machine at Misr Aluminum Company (Egyptalum) in Nag Hammadi. Egyptalum is a subsidiary of the Ministry's Metallurgical Industries Holding Company.

This project is a key development initiative aimed at boosting the company's production capacity and enhancing its competitive position in both domestic and international aluminum markets.

The project, which has begun pilot operation, features a design capacity of 5,000 tons per month of high-quality aluminum wire. This represents a significant qualitative leap in output and product quality. The total investment cost for the project reached approximately $17.5 million.

It was implemented in collaboration with the Italian company Properzi, a global leader in aluminum wire casting and drawing equipment, ensuring the use of advanced technology that meets the highest international technical standards.

Recent progress included the completion of mechanical and electrical installation for the machine and its auxiliary units (including cooling towers, air compressors, and electrical transformers), followed by the programming phase.

Startup tests have successfully reached the machine's maximum capacity, confirming the success of the installation and commissioning work in achieving the target performance.

Egyptalum has already marketed the initial batches of production from the new line to several customers, demonstrating confidence in the product's quality and the project's viability.

The new line is crucial for diversifying Egyptalum's products and increasing value-added output. It strengthens the company's ability to expand into new markets, supporting growth plans and reinforcing its status in this strategic industry.

Engineer Shimi affirmed that the project aligns with the state's direction to support and modernize national industries using the latest global technologies. He emphasized that this achievement is one step in a comprehensive plan to upgrade and develop Egyptalum.

The company is currently executing several other strategic expansion projects focused on enhancing production and competitiveness, introducing new products to meet evolving domestic and international market demand, and maximizing Egyptalum's role as a cornerstone of Egypt's aluminum industry and a supporter of the national economy.
