The day began with a meeting at the Washington headquarters
of ServiceNow, where Gamal El-Din met with company representatives. The
discussion focused on opportunities for cooperation in digital transformation
and the development of operational systems across ports and industrial zones,
as well as exploring ways to leverage the company’s advanced solutions to
enhance the efficiency of services provided by the SCZone to investors.
Gamal El-Din then held a bilateral meeting with Rivian
Automotive, attended by Julie Henniges, Chief Operations Officer, and Christina
Kinsman, General Manager of Investment and Trade. The meeting explored
potential cooperation in manufacturing, supply chains, and mechanisms to
support U.S. companies’ access to regional markets through the SCZone.
The Chairman also participated in a meeting and roundtable
organized by the American Association of Exporters and Importers (AAEI),
attended by its CEO, Eugene Laney. The session brought together representatives
from 26 U.S. and international companies operating in the chemical and advanced
materials industries, automotive and vehicle manufacturing, medical devices and
technologies, logistics services, business consulting, pharmaceuticals, food,
and electronics.
During the roundtable, Gamal El-Din presented the incentives
and investment opportunities available within the SCZone, highlighting its
position as an integrated platform for manufacturing and logistics that
supports the expansion of global companies.
As part of strengthening the energy sector, Gamal El-Din met
with the U.S. Energy Association (USEA), where he held discussions with its
CEO, Mark Menezes. The meeting reviewed the SCZone’s role as a hub for green
industries and new and renewable energy, emphasizing its efforts to position
itself as an attractive destination for clean energy and green hydrogen
investments, in alignment with Egypt’s sustainable energy transition goals.
Gamal El-Din also met with Calista Redmond, Vice President
at NVIDIA, where discussions covered the company’s work in AI technologies,
application programming interfaces (APIs), high-performance computing (HPC),
and advanced mobile applications. The two sides also reviewed developments
related to port digitization. The Chairman stressed that adopting smart
solutions represents the future of port and logistics management, and that
cooperation with specialized companies in this field supports the development
of smart industrial zones within the SCZone.
Another meeting was held with AquaTech, where Gamal El-Din
met with Gabriel Pelathy, Vice President for Government Relations and Market
Development at the company specializing in water desalination technologies. The
discussions covered the company’s operations, including desalination plants,
brine extraction, and green steel production, in addition to water resource
management within industrial zones.
The Chairman also met with representatives of Rapiscan
Systems, a company specializing in security and inspection solutions. The
meeting was attended by Darrel Jones, Senior Vice President; Gina Donay, Vice
President for International Affairs; and Bernard Zarour, Sales Director. The
company presented its latest technologies for securing ports and logistics
facilities. Gamal El-Din emphasized that enhancing security and inspection
systems in ports is essential for improving logistics services and
strengthening the SCZone’s ability to attract high-value investments.
These meetings help highlight investment opportunities
within the SCZone and build long-term strategic partnerships, underscoring the
Zone’s position as a leading regional industrial and logistics platform that
attracts high-quality investments across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
