The tour aims to build bridges of partnership and
cooperation between SCZone and the American business community, and to showcase
the investment opportunities available within the authority. These
opportunities span 21 industrial, logistics, and service sectors targeted for
localization within the ports and industrial areas of the zone, reflecting the strong
economic ties between Egypt and the United States and the promising prospects
for joint investment.
The first day of meetings was attended by Captain Mohamed
Ibrahim, SCZone Assistant Chairman; Nader Kamel, Director General of Investment
and Promotion; and Commercial Counsellor Yahya Al-Wathiq Billah, Head of the
Egyptian Commercial and Economic Office in Washington.
The first stop of the tour included a meeting with
executives from Becton Dickinson (BD), one of the world’s largest medical
device and supplies manufacturers. Discussions focused on potential cooperation
to establish specialized factories within the zone, supporting the localization
of medical device production, advancing Egypt’s healthcare sector, and meeting
regional market demands. The zone’s strategic location as a gateway for exports
to Africa and Europe was highlighted as a key advantage.
Gamal El-Din also met with Omar Boraie, CEO of Boraie
Development, a leading U.S.-based urban development company. They discussed
opportunities for joint projects in service and logistics facilities within the
zone, enhancing infrastructure integration to support industrial investments.
SCZone’s strategy aims to create integrated communities that include industrial
and residential facilities, workforce training centers, and other essential
amenities.
As part of showcasing the zone’s competitive advantages and
the investment incentives Egypt offers, particularly in clean energy and
advanced industries, Gamal El-Din participated in a roundtable hosted by DLA
Piper, one of the largest U.S. law firms. Attended by a select group of
American business leaders, the session emphasized that SCZone offers an ideal
platform for U.S. companies seeking manufacturing and export hubs connecting
three continents, supported by Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). This, in turn,
strengthens economic cooperation between the two countries and supports global
supply chains.
The Chairman also met with Lava, specializing in small-scale
packaging solutions, QR code security, and digital document technologies,
exploring opportunities to localize these solutions within the zone.
Gamal El-Din held talks with Climatic Co., a developer and
financier of solar and wind energy projects, to discuss collaboration on
renewable energy initiatives within SCZone. This aligns with Egypt’s ambition
to become a global hub for clean energy and achieve regional and international
energy integration to meet growing sector demands, which are central to all
industrial activities.
Further meetings included Duffy Capital Partners, a firm
specializing in sustainability, waste management, and private equity solutions,
to explore investment opportunities in recycling and circular economy projects.
He also met Gator Greenberg from GKG Capital, which invests in diverse
logistics solutions, expressing interest in collaboration with SCZone.
Additionally, Gamal El-Din met with Civic Innocent, General
Partner of Frankenbuild Ventures, an investor in deep technologies and
innovative solutions, particularly in the blue economy. Discussions focused on
supporting startups in advanced industrial technologies and promoting
development and technology transfer across SCZone projects.
This promotional tour forms part of SCZone’s strategy to
attract foreign direct investment, localize advanced industries, and promote
Egypt’s sustainable development and global economic integration.
