The Tanta station, located in Kafr El-Sheikh Seleem village, spans 14 feddans and is targeted to produce around 70 million eggs annually. It is considered one of the largest egg production facilities in Egypt.
The officials received a briefing on the facility, which is
divided into two parts. The larger section, covering 11 feddans, includes egg
production houses, with a capacity of up to 34,000 birds) and a feed factory
producing 3 to 5 tons per hour. The second, 3-feddan section contains two
rearing houses with a capacity of 42,000 birds each. The station utilizes fully
automated systems for feeding, egg collection, and waste management to ensure
high efficiency. Production is scheduled to begin at the end of December 2025.
Dr. Awad affirmed that the project reflects the state's
commitment to public-private partnerships and developing provincial production
to achieve food security. She noted it is part of the National Strategy for
Sustainable Development, aiming for self-sufficiency, reduced reliance on
imports, and market stabilization.
Governor El-Guindy described the operation of the station as a long-awaited dream. He emphasized that its full capacity would be a qualitative leap in providing the product at fair and suitable prices, contributing to market stability and easing the burden on families. The Governor called the project a successful model of public-private partnership that will create numerous job opportunities.
