The meeting focused on strengthening economic relations
between the two countries and increasing Japanese investment in Egypt amid
ongoing economic reforms.
El-Etreby highlighted major investment opportunities for
Japanese companies, emphasizing broad sectoral reforms, the government’s
redefined role in the economy, and a more attractive business environment.
Kobayashi expressed appreciation for the longstanding
cooperation with Egypt and stressed the Japanese business community’s keen
interest in tapping into Egypt’s promising market.
The discussion also covered ongoing collaboration with
Japanese companies to explore local manufacturing opportunities and boost
Egyptian exports to regional and international markets.
Both sides agreed to hold joint events between the embassy
and the chamber and for the embassy to provide all necessary data to bridge the
information gap for Japanese investors, aiming to expand investment in Egypt
and strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.
