Shimi welcomed the German ambassador, highlighting the depth
and strength of historical ties between Egypt and Germany and the close links
that unite the two nations. He reviewed the portfolio of companies affiliated
with the Ministry, which includes the textile, metallurgical, chemical, and
pharmaceutical sectors, as well as tourism, hospitality, real estate
development, and contracting. He emphasized that these sectors offer promising
investment opportunities for German companies, especially given the
government’s focus on strengthening international partnerships and attracting
advanced technology. The minister also stressed that leveraging German
expertise in technology, industry, and the green transition would support the
development plans of affiliated companies.
The meeting examined cooperation opportunities in several
fields, most notably green projects, the pharmaceutical industry, and the
automotive sector. It also addressed strengthening existing partnerships with
German companies in hotels, fertilizers, energy, and aluminum. These efforts
aim to develop new projects that bolster the industrial economy and enhance the
competitiveness of affiliated companies.
Schulz expressed Germany’s keenness to expand economic
cooperation and develop partnerships with Egypt. He commended the investment
opportunities in the Egyptian market and praised the government’s efforts to
improve the business climate and attract foreign investment.
The meeting comes within the framework of the Ministry of
Public Business Sector’s strategy to broaden international cooperation, attract
global partners, support development plans, strengthen national industries, and
achieve sustainable development.
