Minister of Public Business Sector, Mohamed Shimi, received Jürgen Schulz, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Egypt, and his accompanying delegation at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital yesterday evening. The meeting focused on enhancing economic and industrial cooperation between the two countries and exploring partnership and investment opportunities across several vital sectors.

Shimi welcomed the German ambassador, highlighting the depth and strength of historical ties between Egypt and Germany and the close links that unite the two nations. He reviewed the portfolio of companies affiliated with the Ministry, which includes the textile, metallurgical, chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as tourism, hospitality, real estate development, and contracting. He emphasized that these sectors offer promising investment opportunities for German companies, especially given the government’s focus on strengthening international partnerships and attracting advanced technology. The minister also stressed that leveraging German expertise in technology, industry, and the green transition would support the development plans of affiliated companies.

The meeting examined cooperation opportunities in several fields, most notably green projects, the pharmaceutical industry, and the automotive sector. It also addressed strengthening existing partnerships with German companies in hotels, fertilizers, energy, and aluminum. These efforts aim to develop new projects that bolster the industrial economy and enhance the competitiveness of affiliated companies.

Schulz expressed Germany’s keenness to expand economic cooperation and develop partnerships with Egypt. He commended the investment opportunities in the Egyptian market and praised the government’s efforts to improve the business climate and attract foreign investment.
