GAFI prepares to market Galala City project

Hossam Heiba, CEO of Egypt's General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), inspected the Galala City projects alongside the Assistant Head of the Armed Forces Land Projects Agency for Development and Projects. The visit aimed to finalize the promotion plan for investment opportunities in the city.

He highlighted the state's efforts to equip the 17,150-feddan city with world-class infrastructure, ensuring a unique experience for residents and tourists. The city spans from sea level to an elevation of 800 meters, connected by mountain roads and a regular cable car, creating exceptional climatic and environmental diversity with panoramic views of the Red Sea. The official added that the state has prepared the city to receive private investments, and the business community is now tasked with development and operation to ensure sustainable growth.

Heiba confirmed that the promotion plan includes listing Galala's investment opportunities on Egypt's investment map and prioritizing them in all GAFI's promotional roadshows abroad, especially in the Gulf and East Asia. The plan will culminate in the launch of an international conference to promote investment opportunities in Galala.

Currently, Egypt's investment map lists nine fully developed investment opportunities in Galala, offered under various systems, including public-private partnership, usufruct, ownership, and management/operation. These include the Yacht Marina, the Coastal Hotel, the Water Park, Galala Hospital, the Upscale Residential Quarter, Downtown Avenue (the city's main service hub), Resort 5, Resort 7, the Mountain Galala Hotel, Royal Compound, and Galala Heights Resort.

Heiba stressed that the city itself is the main incentive, noting that the state has established high-efficiency infrastructure: roads, water lifting stations, electricity, and sewage networks, and key facilities like a hospital, university, and worker housing. He added that the city's strategic location, mountainous nature, and excellent year-round climate create huge opportunities for all types of tourism: recreational, environmental, medical, and conference.

The GAFI CEO stated that the harmony between the city's authority and the private sector in existing projects enhances the city's attractiveness, as the success of current projects will draw future ones. Heiba projected that upon completion of the development plans, Galala City will feature the main yacht marina on the Red Sea, capable of hosting 600 yachts and boats, complemented by large hotel capacity, administrative, and commercial centers for full residency and value-added economic activities.
