During his talks with his South Korean counterpart, Lee Jae
Myung, who is visiting Cairo, the President expressed Egypt’s aspiration to
expand the operations and investments of Korean companies in various priority
sectors. He highlighted communications and information technology, automotive
manufacturing, shipbuilding, artificial intelligence, petrochemicals, and
mining, with a focus on localizing these industries within Egypt.
The President also highlighted the guarantees, investment
incentives, and competitive advantages offered by Egypt to the market.
Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, the official spokesperson for
the Presidency, stated that the President began the meeting by welcoming his
guest on his first visit to Egypt since assuming office in June 2025. The visit
coincides with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations
between the two countries.
Myung expressed his gratitude for the warm reception,
emphasizing South Korea’s commitment to developing cooperation with Egypt
across all fields, both at the governmental level and through the activities of
Korean companies in the Egyptian market.
He also praised Egypt’s achievements over the past decade,
most recently the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
