The company drilled the exploratory well Jumana-1, where
electrical logging confirmed the presence of gas indicators. Initial results
showed a production rate of approximately 36 million cubic feet of gas per day.
Testing and initial reservoir assessment are underway, with the well scheduled
for production by Wednesday.
The discovery reinforces the role of Apache Corporation,
Khalda's investment partner in the Western Desert fields, in exploring and
developing gas resources alongside crude oil. It comes after the Ministry of
Petroleum and Mineral Resources introduced new incentives to encourage
investment in gas production within Khalda’s operational areas.
