Steit, Organon discuss localizing women’s health pharmaceuticals in Egypt

Hesham Steit, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement (AUP), met with a high-level delegation from the American company Organon, one of the world’s leading firms in women’s health and known for its diverse, modern, and innovative products, particularly a wide range of contraceptives.

The two sides reviewed prospects for joint cooperation and explored ways to localize the manufacturing of Organon products in Egypt, especially those focused on women’s health.

The company’s delegation affirmed their interest in supporting women’s health in Egypt and across African countries by transferring and localizing new and innovative pharmaceutical industries.

During the meeting, both Organon and Steit underscored their support for Egyptian initiatives dedicated to health awareness and women’s empowerment. These nationwide initiatives contribute to enhancing awareness of women’s health and providing safe, advanced healthcare services.

Officials from Organon expressed their full readiness to collaborate with AUP in local manufacturing and supply chain development, as well as benefiting from the Authority’s strategic warehouses in Egypt. This cooperation aims to enhance the availability of vital pharmaceutical products and reduce reliance on imports.

The meeting reflects AUP’s commitment to promoting international partnerships that support national industry and strengthen Egypt’s pharmaceutical security.
