The move supports Egypt's national strategy to localize industry and boost the local component through establishing advanced industrial areas that provide a comprehensive work environment and smart infrastructure for investors. This is expected to enhance Egypt's industrial competitiveness regionally and globally.
The signing was attended by Tarek Shoukry, Non-Executive
Chairman of AGD, and Engineer Ahmed El Sewedy, CEO and Managing Director of ElSewedy
Electric. The agreement was signed by Rabab Mostafa, Vice Chairperson of Arabia
and CEO of Place Mappers Urban Development—an Arabia Developments company—and
Mohamed Mostafa, Chief Financial Officer of El Sewedy Industrial Development.
Under the agreement, ElSewedy Industrial Development will
manage and fully develop the industrial zone owned by Arabia Developments,
handling infrastructure work, utilities, and the planning of industrial plots.
The aim is to create an integrated area ready to receive investors across
various industrial sectors.
Commenting on the partnership, Arabia Developments
Non-Executive Chairman Tarek Shoukry said the alliance was a significant step
within Arabia Group for Development's vision that places support for local
industry and national economic development at the core of its strategy. He
noted ElSewedy Industrial Development was chosen for its specialized and
genuine experience in developing and managing industrial zones, ensuring the
project is implemented with global and sustainable standards.
For his part, ElSewedy Electric CEO Ahmed ElSewedy stressed
the agreement represents a practical model for integration between private
sector developers to accelerate industrial growth. "Through this
partnership, we aim to create an attractive investment environment that raises
production efficiency and speeds up the business cycle for the industrial
investor, by providing integrated services including design, planning,
development, and operational management after commencing activity," he
said.
ElSewedy added that the new project is an extension of ElSewedy's
efforts to establish integrated industrial cities in several governorates,
including 10th of Ramadan, Six of October, Sokhna, and Sadat. He affirmed the
cooperation will contribute to increasing local manufacturing rates and
providing direct and indirect job opportunities.
In the same context, Arabia Developments Vice Chairperson
Rabab Mostafa Abd El Wareth explained that ElSewedy Industrial Development was
selected to handle the zone's development and management due to its extensive
experience and track record in establishing and operating major industrial
cities in Egypt, such as 10th of Ramadan, Six of October, and New Alamein. She
noted the cooperation will create real added value for the industrial sector
and strengthen Egypt's position as an integrated industrial hub.
The agreement aligns with a shared vision between the two parties to boost industrial investment and solidify Egypt's standing as a regional industrial destination by enabling national companies to lead strategic projects that contribute to a more diversified and sustainable economy.
