The move, aimed at ensuring the availability of basic commodities at affordable rates and alleviating burdens on Egyptian families, was agreed upon during a meeting attended by Dr. Alaa Nagy, CEO of the Food Industries Holding Company (FIHC), and Ahmed Kamal, Assistant Minister and Ministry Spokesman.
Minister Farouk emphasized the importance of providing
essential goods at fair prices and collaborating with the private sector to
stabilize markets. The agreement covers the sale of Zamzam and Top Value mixed
cooking oils, produced by the state-owned FIHC, at discounted rates. A 700 ml
bottle of mixed oil will be sold for EGP 46.60. The discounted oils will be
available starting Sunday at all four Hyperone branches (Suez, Alexandria,
Sheikh Zayed, and 10th of Ramadan), in addition to the Consumer Complexes
outlets.
A representative for Hyperone confirmed the chain's
commitment to continuous cooperation with the Supply Ministry and the FIHC to
offer oils at reduced prices, in tandem with the ongoing national price
reduction initiative.
Dr. Nagy stated that the FIHC would supply sufficient quantities of these commercial-grade oils for distribution at Hyperone outlets, complementing the supply already provided to Consumer Complexes.
