Minister of Finance, Ahmed Kouchouk, affirmed the government's commitment to expanding global partnerships to attract more private investment, highlighting Egyptian-Korean cooperation as a model for a promising economic and developmental partnership.

"We are working to expand the scope of this cooperation in the coming phase," Kouchouk said at the Economic Partnership conference between Egypt and South Korea. He noted that the volume of bilateral trade is increasing, having reached $1.6 billion in 2024.

He stated that the total value of South Korean Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in Egypt exceeds $6 billion to date. He pointed out that Korean investors have demonstrated an excellent experience in localizing industries across a number of sectors and utilizing the Egyptian economy as a regional manufacturing hub for export.

He added that both nations are working together to explore new investment opportunities in the industrial and technological sectors, leveraging Korean expertise to localize advanced technology in various economic activities. He concluded that Egypt and South Korea share a common vision for achieving developmental goals through successful economic and commercial partnerships.
