This decision comes in addition to the continued
availability of the existing 700 milliliter bottles at 27 Egyptian pounds and
the 800 milliliter bottles at 30 Egyptian pounds. The move aims to provide a
wider variety of sizes and prices to meet the needs of different consumer
groups.
Farouk affirmed that this step comes as part of the
Ministry’s ongoing monitoring of market activity and its commitment to ensuring
the availability of essential goods for citizens at high quality and fair
prices. The Minister noted that this supports the role of the subsidized goods
system in maintaining balance and stabilizing supply.
The minister explained that the new bottle will be gradually
made available at all subsidized outlets nationwide starting December 1. He
confirmed that the Ministry continues its efforts to develop the subsidized
goods system and ensure the regular distribution of essential commodities in a
more efficient and sustainable manner.
He also confirmed the continuation of the established
discounts on various types of open market oils, including blended oil,
sunflower oil, and corn oil, at branches of the consumer complexes affiliated
with the Holding Company for Food Industries. He said that this comes as part
of the Ministry’s commitment to easing living costs for citizens and ensuring
the availability of essential goods at reasonable prices.
He added that consumer complexes continue to offer open
market oils at prices lower than those in the open market, while adhering to
quality standards and supporting local production. He affirmed that this
approach aligns with the state’s policy of regulating markets and enhancing
food security for Egyptian citizens.
