The meeting was held to enhance cooperation and integration between the NFSA and state bodies concerned with supporting Egyptian exports and raising the competitiveness of national products in global markets.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to boost
joint cooperation in the fields of supporting Egyptian food exports and
exchanging information regarding the requirements of foreign markets and
internationally applied food safety standards. This is intended to facilitate
the access of Egyptian products to target markets and support the
implementation of the state’s strategy to increase non-petroleum exports.
Dr. El-Houby affirmed that the NFSA is working to develop
Egypt’s food safety system in accordance with the latest international
standards, focusing on streamlining export procedures and implementing modern
digital systems to ensure speed and efficiency of services. He stressed the
importance of continuous coordination with the Egyptian
Commercial Service, as a key partner in supporting the Egyptian food export file and
enhancing its presence in global markets.
For his part, Dr. El-Sherif welcomed the cooperation with
the NFSA, confirming the Authority’s readiness to provide full support through its
commercial offices abroad. He pledged to provide the NFSA with updates on
international market requirements in the field of food safety, contributing to
strengthening confidence in Egyptian products and opening new horizons for
national exports.
The two parties agreed to continue coordination and hold periodic meetings to follow up on cooperation areas and exchange expertise, which will reinforce the state's efforts towards increasing high-quality Egyptian exports and achieving sustainable food security.
