The company announced that the new store, located in Suez
Governorate, will create 150 direct and indirect job opportunities and offer
more than 7,000 products to customers. It is the first Carrefour store in the
governorate.
The group said the new store reflects its commitment to
driving Egypt’s economic and social growth through a long-term strategy of
balanced investment across various development sectors, including retail.
The outlet spans 900 square meters and offers over 7,000
products, including fresh and frozen foods, baked goods, household items, and
electrical appliances.
Dr. Gunther Helm, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Retail, said that
over the past 25 years, the company’s investments in Egypt have exceeded $2.5
billion, contributing to the creation of more than 144,000 direct and indirect
jobs.
He added that Majid Al Futtaim currently operates a retail
network across 18 Egyptian governorates, offering more than 25,000 products to
meet diverse customer needs nationwide. Around 99% of the products are locally
sourced through partnerships with over 800 local suppliers, including farmers,
small and medium-sized enterprises, and Egyptian factories.
