Burullus Gas Company stated that the “Sapphire South Central
DP” well is the third in the 11th phase of the West Nile Delta Deep Project,
producing around 50 million cubic feet of gas per day and 800 barrels of
condensates, equivalent to 9,400 barrels of oil per day.
Burullus Gas Company also confirmed the resumption of
production at the Scarab D4 well after a long halt, adding about 10 million
cubic feet per day, equivalent to 1,700 barrels of oil per day.
The company explained that these operations are part of
ongoing plans to boost local production and meet market demand during the peak
summer season.
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Engineer Karim
Badawi highlighted during the general assembly of Rashid and Burullus Gas
Companies, attended by the chairpersons of Shell Egypt and Malaysian Petronas,
that the 10th and 11th production phases of the West Nile Delta Deep Project
are among the most tangible results of the ministry’s incentive measures. These
measures encourage investment partners, restore confidence, accelerate
projects, attract new investments, increase natural gas output, and secure the
local market.
Engineer Karim Badawi also praised the company’s full commitment to safety, occupational health, and its community initiatives.
Dalia El-Gabry, Chairperson of Shell Egypt, expressed pride
in Burullus’s performance over the past year, noting that the doubling of
production coincided with strict adherence to the highest safety standards. She
emphasized that the company successfully implemented the 10th and 11th phases
in cooperation with the Egyptian petroleum sector, overcoming challenges and
reflecting Shell’s strong commitment to Egypt.
Engineer Hani Esmat, CEO of Malaysian Petronas in Egypt,
praised the successful partnership with the Egyptian petroleum sector and
expressed the company’s ambition to continue its success in Egypt, a key market
rich in regional opportunities.
Engineer Sayed Selim, Chairman of Rashid Petroleum and
Burullus Gas, explained that the company completed the 10th and 11th
development phases, which included six wells with total investments of $575
million. All wells are now operational, raising total production to 305 million
cubic feet of gas and 3,630 barrels of condensates per day, representing a
doubling of the company’s output.
He also highlighted the company’s initiatives to support
civil society.
