El Sisi inaugurates GEM in historic global ceremony

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his wife toured the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) last night with kings and princes plus heads of state and government from around the world. They viewed the displayed collections inside the museum halls.

He moved after the end of the opening ceremony to the site of the museum model. He placed the final piece bearing the name of Egypt. This confirmed the completion of the model and the official inauguration of GEM. The event also announced that leaders of friendly nations received miniature models bearing the name of each country. The programme included a presentation on the history of GEM. The performances featured King Ramses the Second. There was a segment on sunken antiquities of Alexandria. The event showcased the Grand Staircase. It highlighted the museum collection. A Nile segment illustrated the deep connection between the river and the Egyptian people.

The celebration concluded with the Khufu Solar Boats. It included a segment on King Tutankhamun. The presentation highlighted the role of Hussein Abdel Rasoul in discovering the tomb of Tutankhamun. The closing featured light. It featured fireworks and laser shows. The attendees toured the Grand Staircase and the Tutankhamun Hall.

The President and his wife attended the museum opening ceremony on the previous evening. Around eighty official delegations took part. Representatives of regional and international organisations were present. Major global companies participated.

Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El Shenawy stated that President El Sisi welcomed the heads of delegations. The ceremony began with an artistic performance titled The World Plays One Melody. A laser and drone show explained the Orion Belt theory. It highlighted the connection between the construction of the pyramids and the museum. A performance titled A Journey of Peace in the Land of Peace presented the ingenuity of Egyptians in construction from the Pyramid of Djoser to modern architecture. The attendees listened to a Coptic hymn. They listened to Sufi chanting. The drones displayed the message Civilizations Flourish in Times of Peace.

El Sisi welcomed the attendees. He affirmed that Egypt is the oldest State known to history. He stated that ancient Egypt inspired nations around the world. He stressed that wisdom spread from the Nile. He affirmed that civilization is built in times of peace. He stated that cooperation achieves progress.

He stated that the opening of the museum marks a new chapter for Egypt. He affirmed that this is the largest museum in the world dedicated to one civilization. He stressed that the museum is not only a place to preserve heritage. He described it as a living testimony to the genius of Egyptians who built the pyramids and engraved eternity on stone.

He stated that this achievement is the result of wide international cooperation. He highlighted the support of Japan. He expressed appreciation for the efforts of Egyptian experts over previous years. He stated that the museum reflects the journey of the Egyptian people since the dawn of history. He stressed that Egyptians remain diligent and patient and generous. He stated that Egypt remains a hub for stability. It remains a melting pot of cultures. It remains a guardian of human heritage.

He concluded by welcoming the guests again to Egypt. He invited the attendees to make the museum a platform for dialogue. He described it as a destination for knowledge. It is a meeting place for humanity. It is a beacon for those who believe in the value of human life.
