Housing Minister meets with Egyptian-American delegation

Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny met with a delegation of representatives from the Egyptian community in the United States and the Union of Egyptian Youth Abroad to review the ministry's efforts to meet the needs of Egyptians abroad.

The meeting, also attended by officials from the Housing Ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority, aimed to listen to the opinions and suggestions of the diaspora on the ministry's work.

El-Sherbiny welcomed the representatives, expressing his pleasure at participating in the sixth edition of the Conference of Egyptians Abroad. He affirmed his commitment to providing all possible support to meet the needs of Egyptians abroad through the ministry's initiatives specifically tailored for them.

The Minister highlighted two key initiatives for Egyptians abroad. The first, "Beit Al Watan," provides land and residential units in new cities, offering the Egyptian diaspora an investment opportunity in their home country while strengthening their ties to Egypt.

The second initiative, "Baytak fi Masr" (Your Home in Egypt), was launched during the last Conference of Egyptians Abroad and included a diverse range of residential units. The initiative offered around 5,055 housing units with exclusive discounts of 3% to 10% on market prices and flexible payment plans of up to 10 years. A second phase of the initiative, offering 3,000 residential, administrative, and commercial units, is set to launch in September 2025.

The delegation from the United States proposed ideas to promote Egypt's comprehensive urban development to attract foreign investment and encourage the diaspora to invest in their home country. The Union of Egyptian Youth Abroad's delegation also presented a number of needs, including providing training for young Egyptians in construction to prepare them for the job market abroad and increasing the number of units available for middle-income Egyptians abroad.

El-Sherbiny concluded the meeting by expressing his full readiness to meet the needs of Egyptians abroad, noting that they are permanent ambassadors for Egypt and the first line of defense for the Egyptian state abroad.
