Egyptian Outdoor launches mega campaign at Cairo Airport on GEM Opening

Egyptian Outdoor, a subsidiary of the United Media Services (UMS) group, has announced the successful execution of one of the largest promotional campaigns inside Cairo International Airport (CAI) ahead of the Grand Egyptian Museum’s (GEM) highly anticipated historic opening this Saturday.

The campaign aligns with Egyptian Outdoor's leading role in supporting major national events and promoting key national projects. It aims to highlight the global event in a manner befitting Egypt’s civilizational standing and emphasizes the role of modern media in conveying an honorable image of Egypt's deep identity to visitors from around the world.

The integrated campaign featured comprehensive promotional displays both inside and outside Cairo International Airport. These included attractive visuals showcasing the GEM’s stunning architectural design, exclusive footage of the artifacts it houses, and distinctive designs of ancient Egyptian kings and their immortal treasures.

A visual procession of artifacts was displayed across all internal and external airport screens, allowing arriving and departing visitors to experience the atmosphere of the opening from the moment they land until they leave, in an unprecedented promotional experience within one of the Middle East’s largest airports.

The campaign also involved preparing Hall 4, dedicated to private jets and VIPs, where the company implemented sophisticated visual decorations and celebratory displays featuring images of the royal and archaeological treasures within the museum. Promotional banners with the official visual identity of the opening ceremony were also installed, transforming the hall into an elegant artistic façade reflecting Egyptian pride in its ancient heritage.

As part of the preparations, Egyptian Outdoor operated the largest giant 5D screen at Cairo International Airport, located in front of Terminal 2 (used for Arab and foreign flights). This screen, considered one of the most advanced interactive advertising technologies in the Middle East, was dedicated to broadcasting promotional material for the ceremony and introductory clips about the GEM and its unique collection, ensuring it captures the attention of visitors and departing travelers around the clock.

Egyptian Outdoor plans to broadcast the entire opening ceremony live on the airport's screens, including the 5D display, transforming the opening into a collective event watched simultaneously by thousands of travelers, employees, and visitors, creating a shared moment of pride and belonging.

The campaign received widespread positive feedback from travelers and airport staff, who praised the professional level of the advertising designs and the unified visual identity that embodied the spirit of ancient Egyptian civilization in a contemporary style.

Numerous passengers asserted that the visual messages spread throughout the airport successfully conveyed the excitement for the forthcoming GEM opening and highlighted the value of this historic event awaited by the world. They considered Egyptian Outdoor's work a qualitative leap in the standard of national campaigns aimed at an international audience.

In this context, Montasser El-Nabarawy, Chairman of Egyptian Outdoor, expressed his pride in the company's participation in this global event. He affirmed that promoting the Grand Egyptian Museum is a national responsibility the company prioritizes, in line with the Egyptian state's vision to highlight Egypt's cultural and tourist standing globally.

He confirmed the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting media and promotional efforts for various major national projects by utilizing the latest outdoor and digital advertising technologies and presenting visual content that reflects the modern civilizational image of the Egyptian state.
