The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Public Business Sector headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, attended by Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Public Business Sector, and Dr. Hisham Stait, Head of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement and Medical Supply, alongside the chairmen of the three companies.
This alliance is part of a comprehensive strategy to enhance
cooperation between Arab and foreign expertise in industrial investment,
healthcare, and the pharmaceutical and medical supplies industries. The goal is
to establish an integrated production and supply system both within and outside
Egypt, while supporting scientific and medical progress in the Arab region.
Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy affirmed that the EDA is a strategic
partner and key driver in implementing the state's vision. The partnership
reflects the state's commitment to supporting local manufacturing and
localizing the medical supplies industry. He highlighted that the EDA provides
an attractive and stimulating regulatory environment for investment in the
pharmaceutical sector. He stressed that localizing the medical supplies
industry is a crucial pillar for enhancing drug security and confirmed the
EDA's work is integrated with various state institutions to build a strong
national industry capable of meeting local market needs and competing
regionally and internationally.
Engineer Mohamed Shimi stated that the agreement represents
a significant step towards localizing modern medical technology, emphasizing
the state's efforts to transform Egypt into a regional hub for pharmaceutical
and medical supplies manufacturing targeting African and Arab markets. The
Minister explained that the agreement aligns with Egypt Vision 2030 to promote
advanced industrial investment and enhance national and regional health
security, thereby boosting the competitiveness of Egyptian and Arab products in
global markets.
Dr. Hisham Stait affirmed that the agreement is a step
towards establishing a unified Arab system for medical supply and
pharmaceutical manufacturing. He noted that the cooperation among the three
parties ensures the availability of medicines and medical supplies at
competitive prices and global quality standards, reinforcing regional health
security.
Dr. Hossam Abdelmaksoud, Chairman and CEO of Dawah Pharma
LLC, said: "We are not just signing a commercial agreement; we are
establishing a genuine Arab-international alliance in healthcare. This
partnership reflects our deep belief in the Arab region's capability to lead
industrial and medical transformation globally, and it will pave the way for
joint manufacturing projects and exchange of expertise that positions our
region in a leadership role."
Fahad Abdulla Malik, Vice Chairman of QG Medical Devices,
added: "This partnership opens new horizons for cooperation between Qatar,
Egypt, and the United States in advanced healthcare fields. We believe that the
integration among the three parties will bring about a qualitative leap in the
Arab medical industry and enable our products to compete in global
markets."
The signing ceremony concluded with an affirmation that this partnership represents a strategic and developmental alliance striving to achieve the concept of "Health Without Borders" through industrial and scientific projects extending to Africa and the Arab region, consistent with Egypt Vision 2030 and reinforcing Egypt's role as a regional hub for manufacturing and exporting high-quality medicines and medical devices.
