Labor Ministry intensifies action against undocumented foreign workers

The Ministry of Labor announced in a statement today, Thursday, that 276 foreign workers without permits were apprehended inside companies in the Red Sea Governorate during inspection campaigns in the governorate over the past period.

According to the law, reports and violations were issued, and all necessary legal measures were taken.

This comes as part of an intensive inspection plan directed by Minister of Labor Mohamed Gobran through a specialized unit formed to inspect foreign worker situations in all governorates.

Minister Gobran had previously stated in press remarks that no country in the world allows the employment of foreign labor without legal permits. He sent a clear message to all companies and expatriate workers about the necessity of immediately regularizing their status by contacting the Ministry or labor offices. He further explained that the Ministry is in the process of implementing decisive measures to control and regulate the labor market.
