NTRA approves extra compensation for fixed internet users

The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) announced on Saturday additional compensation for users affected by disruptions to fixed internet services, directing service providers to implement the decision.

The Authority explained that this step comes as part of its continued efforts to follow up on the consequences of the fire that broke out at Ramses Central Exchange, aiming to mitigate the impact on fixed internet services and safeguard user rights.

The NTRA approved a compensation package for prepaid internet users, granting 50% of their basic data quota as an additional free bundle. The Authority also decided to offer a 30% discount on monthly bills for postpaid users, in compensation for the service disruption.

The NTRA emphasized its ongoing monitoring of service quality and its constant coordination with telecom providers to ensure continuity of services and prevent similar disruptions in the future. The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to protecting user rights and achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
