Major General Engineer Kamel Al Wazir, Minister of Industry and Transport, met with Jean-Luc Nyembo Mboyo, the Democratic Republic of Congo's Minister of Planning, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting saw the attendance of Kasongo Musenga Jean Baptiste, the DR Congo's Ambassador to Egypt, alongside a high-level delegation from various Congolese entities and leaders from the Egyptian Ministry of Transport. The primary focus was on exploring avenues to boost collaboration across different sectors.

Minister Al Wazir highlighted President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directive to increase cooperation with all African nations, including the friendly DR Congo. The Congolese Minister of Planning welcomed this initiative, emphasizing the desire to enhance economic and trade relations between the two countries. He expressed his keen interest in leveraging the extensive expertise of Egyptian institutions and companies for developmental projects in the DR Congo.

Al Wazir lauded Egypt's significant progress in recent years, particularly in infrastructure and mega-projects. He specifically mentioned the New Administrative Capital, along with advancements in roads, railways, seaports, and electric traction, showcasing Egypt's overall development.

The Congolese side affirmed its strong interest in Egyptian companies expanding their involvement in transport, industrial, and infrastructure projects within the DR Congo. This interest stems from the proven success of several Egyptian firms in implementing crucial projects there.

Notable examples include Arab Contractors Company's execution of vital road and water projects, ElSewedy Electric's contributions to energy and infrastructure, and various other Egyptian companies' involvement in construction, pharmaceuticals, food industries, information technology, and digital transformation.
