The exhibit, scheduled for November 9-11 at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre under the slogan Industry and Transport Together for Sustainable Development, will serve as a platform to match local manufacturers with goods and components currently being imported.
The ministry said the "negative exhibit" is a key
meeting point for manufacturers and suppliers to exchange expertise and
identify opportunities to locally produce required inputs at competitive costs
and specifications.
By showcasing non-domestically produced goods, the ministry
seeks to promote industrial integration, directly connect importers with local
producers, and highlight national capabilities that may be unknown to some
importers.
The initiative is designed to support industrial
development, conserve foreign currency, strengthen supply chains for state
entities and national companies, and ultimately boost the competitiveness of
Egyptian industry. Previous iterations of the "negative exhibit" have
reportedly resulted in successful local production of inputs for various local
and government firms.
The Ministry of Industry is calling on all local manufacturers and suppliers to participate in the upcoming exhibit.
