Rahmi explained that the agency has injected about 800 million Egyptian pounds in the governorates of North and South Sinai since July 2014 until the end of 2024, funding about 9.6 thousand micro, small and medium enterprises, which provided more than 23 thousand job opportunities. He added that non-financial services, awareness programs and entrepreneurship training were provided, in addition to marketing services and participation in exhibitions.
He pointed out the special attention given to Sinai women to
enhance their economic and social role, as specialized technical courses in
handicrafts and heritage crafts were organized, and women were trained in
management and marketing, and assisted in marketing through the agency's
exhibitions, most notably the "Turathna" (Our Heritage) exhibition.
Associations and entities supporting these crafts were also trained to develop
their competitive capabilities. Preparations are currently underway to provide
the trainees with modern sewing machines and train them on their use in
cooperation with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation.
On the occasion of the National Day for the Liberation of Sinai, Rahmi explained that the agency has an ambitious plan to establish thousands of micro, small and medium enterprises and provide the necessary support for existing enterprises. He stressed that the agency's regional branches in the two governorates have begun, in coordination with universities, directorates of education and technical education, and many associations, to provide free training courses to qualify the youth of Sinai to start and manage projects, help them choose suitable project ideas, provide the necessary funding for these projects, and encourage them to establish productive projects that benefit from Sinai's diverse natural resources.
