From Majid Al Futtaim company, the attendees were Ahmed Galal Ismail, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim, Mohamed Khafaga, Regional Manager of Majid Al Futtaim Retail in Egypt, and Ahmed Rahim, Vice President of Business Development at Majid Al Futtaim Retail in Egypt.
Also participating in the meeting from the Ministry's side
were Major General Walid Abu Al-Magd, Deputy Minister, Dr. Alaa Nagy, Chairman
of the Holding Company for Food Industries, Mr. Hossam El-Garahy, Vice Chairman
of the General Authority for Supply Commodities, and Ahmed Kamal, Assistant
Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry.
The meeting addressed the discussion of investment
opportunities and the expansion of partnerships, which include the operation of
malls and outlets, the expansion of opening new branches, in addition to
exporting Egyptian products to the Gulf countries, Africa, Asia, and Eastern
Europe, within the markets where Majid Al Futtaim Group operates.
During the meeting, Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply
and Internal Trade, emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships
with the private sector and opening new horizons for investment.
He pointed out that the Ministry is keen on supporting export opportunities and increasing the competitiveness of Egyptian products, especially in regional and international markets, which will reflect positively on achieving food security and increasing the state's resources of hard currency.
