Presidential spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that the meeting witnessed bilateral talks and discussions that included the delegations of both countries. The two sides discussed ways to enhance relations between the two countries.
In this context, the two presidents signed a declaration to elevate
the relations between both countries to the level of strategic partnership.
The two presidents discussed the steps required by their governments
and their private sectors to activate this partnership in the fields of
manufacturing, trade, investment, ICT, food and energy security, as well as
strengthening ties between business institutions in both countries to promote
sustainable development and mutual interests.
He added that the meeting also addressed ways to enhance defence
cooperation through training, capacity building, and the exchange of
experiences, in light of the increasing regional and international challenges
that necessitate close coordination with friendly countries. The two sides affirmed
their keenness to enhance cultural cooperation, which constitutes a natural
extension of the shared cultural heritage between Egypt and Indonesia.
The official spokesperson mentioned that the two presidents also
discussed the situation in the Middle East.
He clarified that the President Sisi accompanied the Indonesian President to the Egyptian Military Academy, where Lieutenant General Ashraf Zaher, the Academy's director, received them. President Prabowo Subianto was briefed on the preparation and training programs at the Academy, and the two presidents watched the screening of two documentary films, one about the New Administrative Capital and the other about the Egyptian Military Academy.
