Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Dr. Sayed Ismail, met with Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), to review the progress of drinking water and sanitation projects under the Decent Life presidential initiative in rural Egyptian villages. The meeting, attended by key stakeholders from both organizations and the Ministry's Project Management Unit (PMU), focused on the first phase of the initiative.

Dr. Ismail conveyed the political leadership's and Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny's directives for swift completion of the initial phase, stressing the significant positive impact on citizens' lives and the need to resolve any implementation challenges immediately.

He also commended the ongoing collaboration between the Ministry and the AOI in supporting local industries and products within the water and sanitation sector, highlighting the AOI's crucial role in domestically manufacturing essential supplies.

Major General Abdel Latif affirmed the AOI's commitment to continued fruitful cooperation, further research, and development to meet the growing needs of Egypt's significant urban development.

Discussions covered the detailed status of all first-phase water and sanitation projects, presented by the heads of NOPWASD and HCWW. Participants underscored the importance of adhering to deadlines and addressing any implementation hurdles.

The meeting concluded with a directive for continuous field monitoring of projects, weekly progress reports, and ongoing review during relevant meetings.
