The talks focused on opportunities for joint collaboration between the group and the Holding Company for Cotton, Spinning, Weaving, and Garments, particularly in operating and managing several of the ministry's newly established spinning and weaving factories.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the key features
of the National Project to Develop the Spinning and Weaving Industry in the
ministry's affiliated companies. This project includes comprehensive
infrastructure development, the establishment of new factories with the highest
global technical and technological specifications—covering all manufacturing
stages from spinning to finishing and tailoring—and the use of the latest
production lines from major international companies.
The project also involves intensive training and
qualification programs for workers to enhance performance, productivity,
quality, and competitiveness.
Minister Shimi welcomed cooperation with Eroğlu Holding and
other global companies with specialized expertise in managing and operating
these modern factories. This collaboration aims to maximize the benefits from
the massive investments injected by the state to revive this vital sector,
preserve assets, and optimize economic returns.
The Minister stressed that the ministry attaches paramount
importance to modernizing the sector as a basic pillar of the national economy.
He noted that the national project seeks to restore Egyptian leadership in this
industry globally, enhance the added value of local products, and achieve
industrial integration, thus transforming Egypt into a regional hub for the
textile industry. This transformation relies on its trained human resources,
strategic location, and modern manufacturing capabilities being developed to
the highest international standards.
For his part, Nurettin Eroğlu affirmed that the Group
possesses extensive experience and exceptional operational capabilities in
managing spinning and weaving factories internationally. He stated that the
Group sees the Egyptian market as a promising investment opportunity due to the
comprehensive development the sector is undergoing.
Eroğlu also noted that the Group currently has investments
in the Ismailia and Damietta governorates, exports its products to US and
European markets, and is looking to strengthen its partnerships in the Egyptian
market. He praised the ministry's openness to various partnership models and
its persistent efforts to achieve the highest levels of operational efficiency
and sustainability.
The meeting included a review of several preliminary concepts for potential partnership models between the two parties. A technical delegation from Eroğlu Holding previously conducted a site visit to the Misr Spinning and Weaving Company in Mahalla El Kubra to inspect the development and modernization work, where the delegation expressed strong admiration for the advanced infrastructure, the modern machinery, and the factory's operational readiness. The delegation is scheduled to visit another affiliated company in a different governorate in the coming days.
