During the meeting, the Minister of Social Solidarity
highlighted the ministry's prioritization of refugee and migrant issues, citing
their significant economic and social implications. The estimated costs of
hosting these individuals are essential for guiding decision-makers, evaluating
the impact on national and international indicators, and informing the
development of policies that ensure adequate support for Egypt's hosting
efforts.
Dr. Maya Morsi confirmed ongoing cooperation with United Nations organizations to determine the economic costs that Egypt incurs for hosting refugees and immigrants. Furthermore, she noted that a consensus has been reached on the standards used for cost calculation across all ministries and government bodies.
