US dollar drops 51 piasters against Egyptian pound

US dollar drops 51 piasters against Egyptian pound

The US dollar lost 51 piasters against the Egyptian pound over the past ten days, according to data from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE). The dollar recorded EGP 47.54 for buying and EGP 47.68 for selling on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

The dollar’s exchange rate continued to decline gradually across Egyptian banks over the past ten days. On Saturday, September 27, 2025, it stood at EGP 48.05 for buying and EGP 48.19 for selling. Since then, the rate has fallen to EGP 47.54 for buying and EGP 47.68 for selling.

The continued decline in the dollar’s exchange rate against the pound reflects a slight improvement in the local currency. Analysts said this trend highlights recent changes in Egypt’s financial and economic landscape.
