Ismail follows up on integrated sanitation projects in Luxor

Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, held a meeting to follow up on the progress of sanitation projects in villages in the El Tod and Esna districts. The projects are part of the "Integrated Sanitation Program for Some Rural Villages" in Luxor Governorate, Upper Egypt. They are funded by the African Development Bank through a results-based financing mechanism. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Luxor Drinking Water and Sanitation Company, heads of the executing companies, representatives of the Ministry’s Project Management Unit, and consulting firms involved in the projects.

At the start of the meeting, Dr. Ismail reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to accelerating the delivery of drinking water and sanitation services to citizens in rural villages. He stressed the importance of expediting project implementation to ensure completion within the designated timelines. This, he noted, is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to provide essential services nationwide.

The meeting reviewed the status of ongoing projects in Luxor. Officials confirmed that the executing companies must take the necessary measures to complete works on time, in line with the approved schedules. They also discussed ways to overcome any challenges.

The Deputy Minister emphasized the need to strengthen technical teams and mobilize the required equipment. He underlined the importance of working in parallel streams to ensure timely completion of all projects.
