Egyptian pound gains as US dollar falls

The US dollar continued its decline against the Egyptian pound on Thursday, October 2, 2025, falling below the EGP 48 threshold seen at the start of the week.

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) recorded the dollar at EGP 47.79 for buying and EGP 47.92 for selling.

The retreat of the US currency is attributed to an increase in dollar supply and the stabilisation of foreign exchange market indicators. Analysts anticipate further short-term appreciation for the pound as foreign currency inflows continue.
