Housing, Utilities Sector meeting discusses work mechanisms, field inspections

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif El-Sherbiny directed efforts to accelerate progress in the housing and utilities sector. In this context, Engineer Nafisa Mahmoud Hashem, Advisor to the Minister and Supervisor of the Housing and Utilities Sector, held a meeting to review work mechanisms and assess the status of field visits to housing and utilities directorates across the governorates. The meeting also stressed the importance of communication with engineering departments of the New Urban Communities Authority’s cities and the prompt response to inquiries related to the reconciliation and legalization law.

The Housing and Utilities Sector discussed measures underway for the Ninth Arab Housing Conference, scheduled to take place in Cairo in 2026. The conference is being prepared in coordination with the New Urban Communities Authority, the National Center for Housing and Building Research, and the League of Arab States. Discussions also included coordination with the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics to launch the 2026–2027 census, as well as legislative amendments currently being made to the Residents’ Association Law, aimed at preserving real estate wealth.

Engineer Nafisa Mahmoud Hashem reviewed with sector leaders the available resources to address obstacles that could hinder progress, ensuring that the ministry’s performance reflects the requirements of the current stage.

The meeting was attended by Engineer Mustafa El-Naggar, Head of the Housing and Utilities Sector, Engineer Rania Mounir, Head of the Central Administration for Housing Affairs, along with general directors of the sector’s departments.
