Egypt, Bahrain sign 8 agreements to boost bilateral cooperation

Prime Minister Dr. Moustafa Madbouly witnessed today, Wednesday, the conclusion of the expanded joint talks held at the Cabinet headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, alongside His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, during a ceremony that saw the signing of eight agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Bahrain.

Egypt Aluminium Company and Aluminium Bahrain (ALBA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore investment cooperation for evaluating the feasibility of establishing an alumina refinery in Egypt. The MoU was signed by His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, for Bahrain, and Eng. Mohamed El Saadawi, Chairman and Managing Director of the Holding Company for Metallurgical Industries, for Egypt.

The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) of Egypt and the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) signed an MoU to strengthen bilateral investment relations. Her Excellency Noor bint Ali Al-Khulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), and Egyptian CEO Hossam Heiba signed on behalf of their respective countries.

The General Authority for Exhibitions and Conventions of Egypt and the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre signed an MoU for strategic cooperation, with His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, representing Bahrain, and Eng. Hassan El Khatib, representing Egypt.

The Egyptian Customs Authority and Bahrain Customs Affairs signed a mutual recognition agreement for the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) program, with His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani signing for Bahrain and His Excellency Ahmed Kouchouk, Deputy Minister of Finance, signing for Egypt.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt and the Ministry of Tourism of Bahrain signed an MoU for tourism cooperation, signed by His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani for Bahrain and His Excellency Ahmed Kouchouk for Egypt.

The Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities signed an MoU on cooperation in the field of antiquities and museums. His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani signed on behalf of Bahrain, while His Excellency Ahmed Kouchouk signed for Egypt.

The Egyptian Competition Authority and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Bahrain signed an MoU on cooperation in competition protection, with His Excellency Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, signing for Bahrain.

The Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation of Egypt and the Ministry of Sustainable Development of Bahrain signed an MoU on technical cooperation, knowledge exchange, and capacity building in sustainable development. The agreement was signed by Her Excellency Noor bint Ali Al-Khulaif for Bahrain and Her Excellency Dr. Rania Al-Mashat for Egypt.
