El-Sherbiny reviews development projects in Ras El Hekma

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif El-Sherbiny began an inspection tour today, Saturday, with a meeting at the headquarters of the New Ras El Hekma City Authority. The session was held to review and monitor the status of development projects in the Northwest Coast region. These projects are being executed by the New Urban Communities Authority and its various affiliated bodies.

These projects include the New Ras El Hekma City (Shams El Hekma), the area from West Ras El Hekma to Semla and Alam El-Roum, and the West Dabaa Urban Agglomeration. The meeting was attended by ministry officials, representatives from the New Urban Communities Authority, and the heads of the Northwest Coast sector authorities.

During his visit, Housing Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny was briefed on the progress of the first phase of the New Ras El Hekma area. Key updates included the status of ongoing projects like the drinking water and irrigation systems, a new hotel, and administrative offices.

The Minister also reviewed the allocation of land and the latest developments on infrastructure work for the "Shams El Hekma" urgent-development zone. This work involves establishing networks for roads, water, sewage, rainwater drainage, and electricity, along with the construction of a consolidated cemetery for current Ras El Hekma residents. The master plan for this replacement area outlines residential, service, commercial, and investment zones, all connected by a main road network.

Additionally, El-Sherbiny received updates on land development in the new West Dabaa Urban Agglomeration, which falls under the jurisdiction of the New Urban Communities Authority. The briefing covered the status of replacement lands for current residents and the progress of infrastructure, including drinking water, sanitation, roads, electricity, and service buildings. The goal is to create a fully integrated urban community with comprehensive services for local residents.

Concluding the meeting, Minister of Housing Sherif El-Sherbiny directed officials to speed up infrastructure work to ensure the rapid development of the Northwest Coast.

He emphasized the need to provide all necessary services to the region's new development zones. The minister called for regular progress reports on all projects and stressed the importance of a unified effort among all agencies to ensure timely and high-quality completion of the work.
