Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, chaired the general assembly meeting of the Suez Canal Port Development Company, attended by Suez Canal Authority Chairman Lieutenant General Osama Rabie.

The assembly approved the company's annual report, financial statements, and accounts for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024.

The company's chairman reviewed its key achievements and administrative actions during the past year. He also updated the assembly on the status of various projects, including: a new 850-meter-long marine berth at Tahya Misr 2 terminal, the Taba seaport and the al-Ferdan/Taba railway line, a cement silo project at the Arish seaport, a logistics station for raw material handling in the Adabiya area, dredging, backfilling, and berth construction at the El Dekheila port's non-clean bulk terminal, a 6,920-meter western breakwater at the Damietta port, and dredging and backfilling for the industrial zone at the Damietta port.

Al-Wazir emphasized the need for the company to adhere to the timeline for all projects, highlighting their strategic importance in the transport sector. He also urged the company to expand its project portfolio and continue its efforts to become a leader in port development, management, and operation. This includes handling cargo and container terminals, providing logistics services, and managing all related sea, land, and rail transport activities both domestically and internationally.
