Tax Authority issues statement on E-receipt system

Rasha Abdel Aal, Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), announced Decision No. (281) for 2025, which marks the second sub-phase of the eighth main phase of the electronic receipt system. This decision requires taxpayers and assignees listed on the official ETA page to start issuing electronic tax receipts for services or goods sold to final consumers, effective September 15, 2025.

Abdel Aal stressed that those obligated by this decision must meet the technological operating conditions set by the ETA for issuing these electronic receipts. They also need to register on the electronic portal for the incentive program, aptly named "Your Invoice – Your Protection and Your Prize," also effective September 15, 2025.

The ETA has made sure all necessary information about the electronic receipt system is easily accessible. You can find details on their official Facebook page, YouTube channel, and website. They've even provided a direct link on their site, "Your Guide to Dealing with the Electronic Receipt System," for the tax community to access everything they need.

Taxpayers who are required to use the electronic receipt system should visit the ETA portal and navigate to "Your Guide to Dealing with the Electronic Receipt." There, they'll find videos explaining how to integrate with and use the system, along with all the latest updates to help them.

The Integrated Call Center of the Egyptian Tax Authority answers all inquiries and questions on the hotline 16395. To report cases of tax evasion, you can call the hotline 16189 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, except on Fridays and Saturdays.
