Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, spokesperson for the Egyptian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the US decision elevates Egypt to
Level 2, placing it on par with countries such as France and Germany.
Khallaf also welcomed a similar step by the British Foreign
Office, which likewise updated its travel guidance for Egypt to Level 2. The
British update highlighted that one million British tourists visit Egypt
annually, underscoring the stability of the security situation in the country.
He attributed these upgrades to extensive outreach efforts by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry and its embassies abroad with several nations, aimed at boosting tourist numbers to Egypt.
