A fire broke out this evening, Monday, in one of the equipment rooms at the Ramses switchboard of Telecom Egypt, temporarily disrupting telecommunications services. Civil defense teams, in cooperation with Telecom Egypt's technical teams, are working to contain the fire. Necessary measures have been taken to disconnect power to the entire switchboard. Services are being gradually restored over the next few hours. An inventory of all services and customers affected by the fire is being conducted.
The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) confirms
that it will take the necessary measures to ensure the restoration of service
and compensation for all customers affected by the disruption. All relevant
agencies are monitoring the situation to ensure the problem is resolved and its
impact mitigated.
