Shimi: Damietta, a model of industrial-tourism integration

Minister of Public Business Sector, Mohamed Shimi, met Saturday with Damietta Governor Ayman El-Shehaby to discuss boosting cooperation on industrial and tourism development in the northern province.

Shimi's visit to Damietta, located in the Nile Delta, aims to inspect several industrial facilities and hotel properties owned by ministry-affiliated companies.

The two officials held extensive talks focusing on vital issues including the development of textile industries, the growth of hotel assets, and the revitalization of domestic tourism, according to a ministry statement.

Shimi highlighted Damietta's significance as a model for integrating the state's industrial and tourism strategies, emphasizing the ministry's commitment to strengthening its companies' role in the province due to its distinguished location and significant industrial and human potential.

He added that constant coordination between the ministry and the governorate will ensure rapid and effective implementation of development projects and address any challenges, thereby achieving shared development goals.

For his part, El-Shehaby welcomed Shimi's visit, reaffirming the governorate's full support for the ministry's projects. He also lauded the "serious steps" being taken by the ministry to support national industry and to revive and develop state-owned assets.
