Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities; Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation; Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development; Mr. Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation; and Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, inaugurated the "Gomla Market" branch in the Heritage City of New Alamein City. The opening was attended by Major General Khaled Shoeib, Governor of Matrouh.

El-Sherbiny stated that the opening of this branch of the large supermarket chain in New Alamein City comes within the framework of providing various services to the city's residents and visitors, and in preparation for the current summer season. He noted that this chain is considered a brand name and a reliable and economical choice for Egyptian families, as it provides most of the essential goods for life. He emphasized the need to adhere to quality standards that are consistent with the income brackets of the majority of families in the city, as state agencies are keen to establish these projects to provide services to citizens alongside what the state provides.

Dr. Awad affirmed the Ministry's support for the efforts of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, its affiliated companies, and the private sector to expand the opening of retail chains across the country's governorates, providing various basic commodities to citizens of all social classes and segments at appropriate quality and wholesale prices. The Minister of Local Development also indicated the Ministry's continued support for efforts to establish more outlets and exhibitions for the sale of food commodities, ensuring the availability of various types of commodities. She also indicated support for the efforts of private sector companies operating in this vital sector, which impacts citizens' lives, and the Ministry is working on providing them with all necessary facilities in the governorates.

Sherif Farouk stressed the importance of expanding hypermarket chains as a key pillar of the development and modernization of the domestic trade sector. He noted that the presence of these chains in new cities, particularly New Alamein City, directly contributes to providing citizens with high-quality food and non-food commodities at reasonable prices, in line with the state's policy of regulating markets and achieving a balance between supply and demand. He also explained that the Ministry is working to create an attractive investment climate in this vital sector, supporting the country's comprehensive urban and economic development plans.

Alaa Farouk affirmed the Ministry of Agriculture's commitment to providing all forms of support and assistance to development projects across the country and contributing to the government's plan to create an attractive investment climate, particularly in the agricultural sector. This includes encouraging small, medium, and micro enterprises, providing job opportunities for youth and rural women, and facilitating the work of citizens and farmers. Farouk emphasized the importance of involving the private sector in all development efforts, in light of the state's efforts to encourage investment, remove obstacles, and provide promising investment opportunities, in addition to providing technical support to ensure their success.

Engineer Ahmed Ibrahim, Chairman of the New Alamein City Authority, explained that the New Alamein City branch of "Gomla Market" was established in one of the buildings in the commercial area of ​​the heritage city, which includes (a restaurant complex, cafeterias, and shops) with (9) buildings of varying sizes, in addition to open areas, large squares used for leisure and relaxation, and parking areas. This branch is the largest branch of the brand in the North Coast region, as the building is located on an area of ​​​​3,000 square meters and consists of two floors with a total building area of ​​​​5,352 square meters.
