Rahmy discussed with the Chinese side ways MSMEDA can benefit from China's experience in supporting small enterprises, which has succeeded in achieving a qualitative leap that has contributed to providing millions of job opportunities for its citizens and propelling it to the ranks of the world's leading economies. He noted that coordination is ongoing between the two sides to work on transferring China's experience to the Egyptian market, with a particular focus on industrial and production projects. This is in implementation of the directives of Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister and Chairman of the MSMEDA Board of Directors, to leverage the potential of this promising sector to increase investment opportunities, reduce imports, maximize its contribution to supporting the national economy, localize industry, secure supply chains, and increase its reliance on technology to produce products that meet global market standards. This will enhance its ability to meet domestic needs and enhance its competitiveness in exports.
El-Naggar stressed that Egypt's participation as the guest of honor at this year's China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair confirms the depth of relations between the two sides. He noted that trade relations between the two countries are witnessing continuous development. He explained that Egypt seeks to increase Chinese investments in Egypt and identify new opportunities that allow Egyptian products to access the Chinese market and benefit from the diverse opportunities available there. This is achieved through participation in various events and exhibitions organized by China, which include hundreds of companies from around the world. This allows Egyptian projects to conclude new contracts that enable them to expand and develop.
Rahmy added that one of the most important topics discussed with the Chinese side was the mechanisms for expanding trade exchange between small projects in the two countries and supplying the Chinese market with the goods or services they need from small projects in Egypt. This allows these projects the opportunity to enter one of the largest and most important global markets, gain exposure to it, and enhance their expertise in developing new products or increasing and expanding their production.
He praised the cooperation provided by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, through its various agencies, to facilitate the participation of the agency's clients in major international exhibitions and open foreign markets for distinguished Egyptian products.
