With this victory, Dr. El-Sawah becomes the first woman to hold the SME seat for two successive terms, reflecting broad recognition of her pivotal role in advancing Egypt’s SME sector.
In the previous election cycle, Dr. El-Sawah secured a decisive victory over her competitor and went on to demonstrate her effectiveness throughout her first term. She played a key role in spotlighting the Nile Exchange and expanding the number of SMEs listed on the platform.
Dr. El-Sawah has been an influential figure in the business ecosystem, serving as Vice Chair of the SME Committee at the Egyptian Businessmen’s Association and as a member of the Central Secretariat for SMEs within the Mostaqbal Watan (Future of the Nation) Party. She also held executive roles supporting SME initiatives internationally in Saudi Arabia and Oman, and has led advanced training programs in collaboration with public and private institutions.
She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Risk and Crisis Management from Cairo University, enhancing her expertise in strategic planning and navigating financial and economic crises.
She led several programs aimed at boosting the performance of Nilex-listed companies, with a strong focus on transparency, technical support, and contributing to a comprehensive development strategy for the exchange.
Dr. El-Sawah said she was proud and confident to continue her journey representing the SME sector on the Egyptian Exchange Board, and that they would continue working to support market growth, encourage new listings, and stimulate trading activity to drive the economic development they all strive to achieve.
